Welcome to My Life in Canada

Updated: Oct 27, 2022

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog "My Life in Canada"!

We are four European girls doing an exchange semester in Kingston (Ontario) as part of our university programs.

Our lives changed since we got here, thanks to the experiences we are having, the new people we are meeting and the challenges we are encountering along the way.

Many things are different from what we are used to, and the various situations we are facing are allowing us to grow and mature as people.

Changing continents is not easy, it can be quite scary to some students, and we also had moments of doubts. But we truly believe that it is a significant source for personal growth and that the memories we create abroad on an exchange will stay with us throughout our lives and shape who we become as accomplished adults.

Through this blog our goal is to share what major changes students face during an exchange and to help them make the most of the experience.

We hope that as you read our articles and follow our adventures on social medias you will find useful tips and advice that can help you. As future exchange students or aspiring to be, we want you to feel more prepared for your move to Canada, by becoming aware of the culture and of everyday life things, so that you can travel here and adapt as smoothly as possible into your new home.

We will try our best to make European students part of our new way of life, offering practical advice on how to deal with cultural differences between the two continents and sharing everyday experiences. You will be able to immerse yourself in this new adventure, taking the advice we give and eventually go on to live your own experiences!

An exchange is an important time for everyone and living it to the fullest is the hope we have for all students.

We are excited to take you along this journey and discover with us what “My Life in Canada” turns out to become.

We are here to help you!

Sincerely,

Alice, Giada, Nicoletta and Noëmie
